WHAT TO BRING

What To Bring

  • Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes with good grip

  • Water, especially for longer walks between rest points

  • Light layers — forest temperatures shift quickly with shade and elevation

  • Insect repellent during the warmer months (late spring through early autumn)

ON THE TRAIL

Trail Etiquette

Please remain on marked paths at all times — many areas beyond the trail edge are fragile forestry land or private woodland. Keep voices low near wildlife crossings, carry out everything you bring in, and leave no trace of your visit.

TIMING YOUR VISIT

When To Walk

Early mornings bring soft mist through the lower trails, while the hour before sunset lights the canopy in gold. Both are quiet, gentle times to walk. For a fuller sense of how the forest changes across the year, visit our seasonal guide.
